YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT!
I often begin my lectures by asking my audience if it thinks that we are what we eat.
Many enthusisastically shout, “Yes!” Then I tell them that the answer reveals how they define themselves, and that what I did was to set a trap for them to see if they think they are just a material body, or if they think that the body is only a vehicle or tool for a non-material, invisible soul, which is their real self.
Then I ask, “What are our bodies made of?”, and answer with “atoms and molecules”. The follow-up question is: Where, then, do all those atoms and molecules come from?
Answer: They come from the body of our planet, from the soil of the Earth via the plant and food cycle. The conclusion is that, in a manner of speaking, our bodies are nothing but bubbles formed out of the earth itself. And then the really tricky question: Who blows those bubbles, and with what?”
Another follow-up question: How can the earth change into human bodies? - And if our bodies are nothing but the food we eat; then if two people eat exactly the same food, kind, quality, quantity - and eat at the same time - should they not turn out identical? - Yet, as we know, they do not. - Why?
To answer this question we need to introduce an unknown factor, which is unique to each individual. This factor cannot be physical, nor chemical. It cannot even be energy. I call it information - or why not use its old familiar, unscientific name: the soul. I see it rather like a computer program or like the idea recorded in an architect´s blueprint, and it´s initial physical manifestation appears to be in the DNA molecule, as the specific genetic code of the individual.
Today the computer is a useful metaphor to make us see a human being more clearly. The hardware or machine itself corresponds to the body. - The electric current necessary to run it corresponds to the vital energy in the human, originating from the Cosmos, in part directly through the sunlight and other electro-magnetic radiation, and in part through the the light energy stored in the food we eat and the air we breathe. - The computer program or software corresponds to our genetic code, also reflected holographically in time, through the specific, matching cosmic information pattern at the moment of birth, that we call the birth horoscope.
